Bernadette Costello worked in magazines and national newspapers before editing a weekly newspaper for the wine, beer and spirits industry. Here she won awards for writing and completed her WSET wine diploma.
After a period of freelance journalism she entered the world of PR. She set up the digital and social media division of William Murray, a London-based agency specialising in food, drink and hospitality. At this Top 100 agency, Bernadette devised award-winning social media and PR campaigns for food and luxury hotel brands. Here she learned how PR strategy works alongside a client's commercial objectives.
In 2011 she set up Costello Media to help promote food and drink clients across print and online media platforms using creative PR, high quality marketing material and High Definition films.
Bernadette has secured editorial for clients across broadsheet newspapers, consumer magazines and food blogs. Within 18 months of launching Costello Media, Bernadette won Silver in the Outstanding Freelance category at the Chartered Institute of PR 'PRide' Awards. She loves food and drink and her greatest passion is to get her clients noticed by the press and the public.
Bernadette is also the founder of Taste The Marches, a website that offers news and features about the wonderful food and drink of the English-Welsh borders.
